Bloggers write posts from time to time. If you had to check every blog you like for updates, it would be a fuzz. But you don’t need to. A service called “news reader” can gather in a single web site all the posts from the blogs you like, updating itself whenever there is something new, and allowing you to read them all at once with a single click. It also allows you to group information in different folders, according to your different interests, the relevance of the blogs, whatever.
The process to access one of those services is usually very fast, typically you’ll only be asked for an email and a password, and there you go! You can start to add blogs and you’ll find the latest news all in the same location.
For a list of the main on-line news readers, just press the “By RSS” link (top, right column). The process is very straightforward and you’ll have to go through it only once.
These on-line services have the advantage that you can access your blogs from any computer. Nevertheless, if you prefer to keep things “at home”, there are also programs that can be easily installed in your computer, and work in a way similar to e-mail (grab the info just once and then work off-line). For example:
- Amphetadesk (Windows, Linux, Mac)
- Rss Owl (Windows, Linux, Mac)
- Feed Demon (Windows)
To choose an on-line newsreader, to subscribe to this blog if you already have one, or even to subscribe via traditional e-mail, see the aforementioned links above.
